Two auto parts producers will set up plants in Villa de Reyes Municipality
Villa de Reyes mayor, Juan Gabriel Solis Ávalos informed that two auto parts suppliers will start operations in the municipality, located south of San Luis Potosi city, and where both BMW and GM plants are located.
One of the company’s Japanese, and is planning on investing 400 million pesos (approximately 23 million dollars); Villa de Reyes is not more than 30 minutes from San Luis Potosi downtown and has experienced a surge in urban, commercial and industrial activity.
With this growth, the mayor added, more employment will be created and the municipality’s importance will keep on growing.
“It’s their loss”: State PRI president about other parties refusal to go together with them in 2018 elections
Martin Juarez Cordova, Institutional Revolutionary Party president in San Luis Potosi, answered other parties that have declared that they will not run together in the 2018 elections, “It’s their loss”, he said.
He added that those comments from politicians in other parties, are to garner “Easy applause”, and he expressed his understanding, as he claimed that they’re just media oriented sayings, with no substance to back them up.
“We’ve got to wait and see how national political dynamics unfold, as those will influence local decisions”, he pointed out and finalized by hoping that these comments and declarations are done responsibly.
SLP State with above average economic growth
In a meeting between state governor Juan Manuel Carreras and plant directors from the Industrial Zone, (which number over 115 thousand, workers), the governor said that the state has had above average economic growth, with 6.2 % and over 22 thousand jobs created in the last 7 months.
He also said that these 115 thousand workers represent 35 % of the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
With these figures, Carreras emphasized SLP’s role in Mexican economy, and to strengthen this role, he made the commitment to continue the coordinated effort between government, investors and workers.
